Benjamin Vu is an animator, writer, and director from Omaha, Nebraska. His films have been screened in Los Angeles, Germany, Switzerland, China, and Vietnam.  Benjamin received his Master's degree in Experimental Animation at CalArts and studied film and architecture at Ball State University.  While at CalArts, Benjamin completed his first computer animated short film, Noobies, and began his professional career on Henry Selick's short film, Moongirl.  Benjamin continued to work for Selick on the stop-motion feature film, Coraline, where he worked in both the art and story departments. Benjamin also assisted LAIKA Entertainment in developing the film, Here Be Monsters. Benjamin has lectured at Nanyang Technological University (Singapore), Yersin University (Vietnam), and Creighton Prep (Omaha). In 2007, Benjamin and his brother Hoa founded Skyvu Pictures Inc., an independent animation studio based in Omaha and Singapore. Benjamin is Skyvu’s chief creative officer and is currently directing several projects for Skyvu Pictures.
